Qualcomm is hiring a Senior XR Software Engineer for their Customer Engineering team. This role involves supporting partners in developing innovative AR/VR solutions using Qualcomm's XR technology. Responsibilities include designing and supporting partner demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, and end-to-end solution architecture.
Responsibilities
- Support ecosystem partners, including enterprise solutions providers, XR technology partners, and device OEMs.
- Design and support partner demonstrations and proof-of-concept/pilot deployments.
- Architect solutions meeting project requirements by working with internal technical and product teams.
- Act as a liaison and escalation point between Qualcomm's XR engineering team and ecosystem partner teams.
- Design, build, test, and support XR solutions end-to-end.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.
- Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.
- PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
- 1+ year of any combination of academic and/or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
- 1+ year of any combination of academic and/or work experience with debugging techniques.
Desired Qualifications
- Passion for XR technology, its applications and use cases.
- Experience or desire to work with the latest XR SDKs (Unity, Unreal, Oculus, Vive, Magic Leap, Nreal, Qualcomm).
- Android OS knowledge, with some development/framework experience.
- Unity 3D development experience, knowledge of shaders and rendering pipeline.
- Camera, Display, Video, Graphics background.
- C/C++, C# development skills.
- Experience in software design, mobile and/or XR systems architecture design, problem solving, debugging, and troubleshooting.
- Self-starter, detail-oriented, and highly motivated.
- Ability to take ownership of work assignments and manage them to completion.
- Ability to work as part of a large cross-functional, geographically distributed team as well as function independently.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Curiosity and a thirst for knowledge and learning.
- Strong customer and solutions-centric focus.
- Up to 3 years of experience in Embedded Software Systems.
