Responsibilities
- Develop new welding technologies and drive technology transfer projects
- Develop and implement WPQR and WPS
- Monitor welders’ performance, examining and certifying welders
- Maintain registers of valid welder competence approvals, WPQR, and WPS
- Maintain a register of welding quality
- Develop local procedures to meet legal and company requirements
- Lead or participate in improvement activities for welding quality and repeatability
- Participate in a global network of welding coordinators
- Ensure compliance with ISO 14731 and ISO 3834-2
- Provide training for welders and lead Welding Academy development
Requirements
- Master of science in welding engineering, material engineering or material science
- IWE or EWE and VT qualifications
- Comprehensive knowledge of welding standards and materials engineering
- Ability to read technical drawings
- Knowledge of MS Office, AutoCad and Inventor programs
- Ability to organize own time
- Solid communication and collaboration skills
- Minimum 3-years of experience as a technologist or welding engineer
- Ability to fluently communicate in English
