WeQuel is seeking an experienced Senior System Safety Engineer for a consulting assignment in Stockholm. The role involves ensuring the safety, compliance, and reliability of advanced system solutions, identifying and mitigating risks, and producing technical documentation. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and experience in systems or safety engineering, preferably in the defense or high-tech sector.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct system safety assessments and risk analyses for products and solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations, standards, and customer-specific requirements (e.g. FMV, Swedish Armed Forces).
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, including hazard logs, safety case reports, and recommendations.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide guidance on safety-critical aspects.
  • Provide safety-related support and training to internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Act as a key point of contact for safety matters with customers and partners.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, system engineers, and design teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (e.g. Electrical, Systems, Safety) or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in systems engineering or safety engineering, ideally within the defence or high-tech sector.
  • Proficient in identifying and analysing hazards in hardware and/or software-based systems.
  • Ability to work independently with good attention to detail and structured documentation practices.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in both Swedish and English.
  • Comfortable with customer interactions and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Office tools for reporting and presentations.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working with system safety standards such as MIL-STD-882, IEC 61508, or ISO 26262.
  • Experience from projects involving the Swedish Armed Forces or FMV.
  • Knowledge of product development processes for rugged or mission-critical systems.
  • Additional training or certification in System Safety or Risk Management.
