Seeking a Senior Project Piping Engineer/Lead Engineer to manage turnkey EPC projects from pre-order to handover. Responsibilities include design, P&ID, 2D/3D layouts, BOM, site support, and acting as the primary customer contact. Requires a BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with 8-12 years of experience in project execution and proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Inventor, and MS Office tools.
Responsibilities
- Manage Turnkey - EPC Customer Centre orders from pre-order to post-order stages.
- Handle drawing and design activities including P&ID, 2D/3D plant layouts, and Bill of Material.
- Provide site support for installation, erection, and commissioning.
- Act as the main coordination link between customers, consultants, licensors, factory, and other departments.
- Manage orders, ensuring client satisfaction, timely delivery, and technical requirements.
- Monitor project progress, report to management, and identify potential slippages.
- Maintain detailed project files and records.
- Prepare and follow up on project documents, including VDRL.
- Travel to customer premises or sub-vendor locations as required.
- Lead, organize, and coordinate assigned project work.
- Propose remedial actions to ensure contract completion.
- Participate in Site Acceptance Test (SAT) and Factory Acceptance Test (FAT).
- Ensure compliance with customer/inspection agency requirements.
- Conduct site visits to verify installation against technical documents.
- Coordinate with the aftermarket team for smooth start-up and commissioning.
Requirements
- BE / B Tech in Mechanical engineering.
- 8 to 12 years of experience in project execution in an EPC- Project Based engineering or product organization.
- Experience preferably in Compressor, Pump, or Rotating Machinery Industry.
- Proficient in AutoCAD Mechanical, Auto CAD Plant 3D, Revit, Inventor professional.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools: MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS VISIO.
- Sound knowledge and experience on Pumps, Screw & centrifugal compressors.
- Sound knowledge on Auxiliaries items like Valves, Pipe & pipe fitting, Field instruments, Cooling water pumps, Cooling tower, PLC, Electrical panels, Cables.
- Experience in Sizing, selection, and Calculations for Auxiliaries systems (cooling water, compressed air, ducting, piping, pressure drop calculations, ventilation, louvers, exhaust fan).
- Good Command (Verbal & Written) of English.
- Able to read, understand, and prepare P&ID, GA, Layouts, Installation, System architect.
- Strong Technical & commercial knowledge of Engineered rotatory equipment.
- Able to work under pressure and plan & organize effectively with a sense of urgency.
- Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Working knowledge of ASME/API/TEMA/IEC/IS/DIN/ ATEX/CCOE and other international Codes.
- Knowledge of MS Projects is required.
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge about CFD analysis, Wind Analysis, Structure analysis, Seismic analysis will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of pressure vessels and heat exchanger is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in Foreign Language will be an added advantage.
- Strong interpersonal communication.
- Be able to adapt in a new environment.
- Willingness to travel within the region and internationally.
- Strong personality, active driver.
