Responsibilities
- Establish and lead cross-functional commodity teams to create and implement value-optimizing supply strategies.
- Identify sources and negotiate price and delivery for new components.
- Drive lower costs through regional/global consolidation.
- Develop long-range strategy and short-term contingency plans.
- Manage strategic supplier relationships.
- Select and develop suppliers into strategic partners.
- Perform and manage competitive bidding processes and Make vs Buy analysis.
- Evaluate, measure, and report supplier performance metrics and scorecards.
- Travel up to 25% of the time.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in business or technical field or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years purchasing experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment with a Fortune 500 Company.
- Strong commodity experience within global sourcing.
- Proven negotiating skills.
- Team Leadership/Management Skills.
- Project Leadership experience.
- Strong analytical skills.
- International Business Experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel & Outlook).
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Advanced presentation and communication skills.
- Skilled at effectively interfacing with employees at all levels in the organization.
- Proven ability to provide leadership through influence.
- Ability to facilitate dynamic, cross-functional groups.
- Strong global citizenship awareness as it relates to culture and customs.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple projects and activities with competing priorities.
Desired Qualifications
- Advance degree desired.
- Master's degree in business administration (MBA) is a plus.
- Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or other related professional certification, completed or in progress is desired.
- Six Sigma Greenbelt certification, completed or in progress is a plus.
- Experience in supply chain operations and/or management is a plus.
