Establishes and leads cross-functional commodity teams to create and implement value-optimizing supply strategies. Responsible for supply relationships, negotiating prices and delivery for new components, and driving lower costs through global consolidation.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and lead cross-functional commodity teams to create and implement value-optimizing supply strategies.
  • Identify sources and negotiate price and delivery for new components.
  • Drive lower costs through regional/global consolidation.
  • Develop long-range strategy and short-term contingency plans.
  • Manage strategic supplier relationships.
  • Select and develop suppliers into strategic partners.
  • Perform and manage competitive bidding processes and Make vs Buy analysis.
  • Evaluate, measure, and report supplier performance metrics and scorecards.
  • Travel up to 25% of the time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or technical field or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years purchasing experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment with a Fortune 500 Company.
  • Strong commodity experience within global sourcing.
  • Proven negotiating skills.
  • Team Leadership/Management Skills.
  • Project Leadership experience.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • International Business Experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel & Outlook).
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Advanced presentation and communication skills.
  • Skilled at effectively interfacing with employees at all levels in the organization.
  • Proven ability to provide leadership through influence.
  • Ability to facilitate dynamic, cross-functional groups.
  • Strong global citizenship awareness as it relates to culture and customs.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects and activities with competing priorities.

Desired Qualifications

  • Advance degree desired.
  • Master's degree in business administration (MBA) is a plus.
  • Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or other related professional certification, completed or in progress is desired.
  • Six Sigma Greenbelt certification, completed or in progress is a plus.
  • Experience in supply chain operations and/or management is a plus.
