Saab Australia is seeking a Space Software Engineer in Adelaide or Melbourne to contribute to the development of space domain products. Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of Space Domain products for situational awareness and decision support.
- Design, develop, and test space domain mission system products.
- Develop new software components and maintain existing ones.
- Document software solutions and architectures.
- Perform integration testing of software components and services.
- Support maintenance and expansion of secure automated pipelines.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications (bachelor’s degree) in a relevant discipline (Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field) and/or equivalent relevant experience.
- Fluent in at least one of the following programming languages: Java, Javascript, C#.
- Well-versed in object orientated design and programming languages.
- Proficient in applying general-purpose and framework-specific design patterns.
- Demonstrate appreciation of agile methodologies and systems engineering practices.
- Experienced in the interpretation and application of software standards.
- Apply configuration management principles and use Git.
- Experience in development of web applications or other Front End user interface design.
- Experience in Backend software development technologies (API development, micro-services, containerization).
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with one of the following UI Frameworks: React, Vue, Angular, ASP.NET, MVC.NET.
- Familiar with the design and implementation of relational databases.
- Experienced in the design and implementation or distributed real-time software systems.
- Familiar with development and deployment of Cloud Infrastructure (Azure or AWS).
- Skilled in designing and implementing test automation solutions.
- Capable of developing human-machine interfaces (HMIs).
- Experience working with Defence and DSTG stakeholders.
- Experience in space domain awareness mission systems.
- Experience with software development in a collaborative product development environment.
- Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Cloud Technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to work closely and effectively with internal and external customers and stakeholders.
- Australian citizens.
- Hold or be able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
