Saab Australia is seeking a Space Configuration Management Manager to provide technical leadership for configuration management activities within the Space Domain team, supporting the delivery of a Space Domain Awareness Mission System. The role involves establishing and maintaining CM plans, processes, and controls, driving CM best practices, and managing product assets and configurations.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of the Configuration Management (CM) Framework for the Allied Mission System (AMS) product line.
- Drive the application of CM practices, including planning, baseline management, change control, and deviation management.
- Establish, deploy, and continuously improve AMS configuration management plans and processes aligned with the Product Line Engineering approach.
- Manage AMS product assets and configurations across multiple customer delivery environments.
- Promote and embed Configuration Management best practice across the Space Domain organisation.
- Partner with engineering stakeholders to develop and maintain System and Product Breakdown Structures for the AMS product.
- Establish and mature the AMS CM capability, including authoring CM plans, engineering change control processes, and version management practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience developing, implementing, and maintaining Configuration Management (CM) plans, processes, and practices.
- Demonstrated experience applying CM principles within a Product Line Engineering environment.
- Strong ability to independently manage priorities and deliver CM process, workflow, and governance improvements.
- Experience operating in complex product development environments with competing priorities and tight delivery timelines.
- Proven stakeholder engagement skills, with experience working collaboratively across Government, Defence, and international organisations.
- Experience applying Quality Assurance practices to the development and automation of business and engineering workflows.
- Australian citizenship required.
- Must hold or be able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level.
