Atlas Copco is seeking a Sourcing Engineer to develop competitive and sustainable suppliers for assigned commodities in Wuxi, China. This role involves managing supplier relationships, implementing sourcing strategies, and contributing to new product development while ensuring performance compliance.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for assigned commodity management, establishing the commodity strategy and acting it.
- Build up commercial and technical knowledge of responsible commodity markets and raw material pricing.
- Manage vendor relationships and build sustainable & effective partnerships.
- Undertake responsibility on assigned new projects through sourcing activities.
- Focus on supplier performance control and continued improvement, such as continuous cost reduction, on time delivery, shortened lead time, quality excellence etc.
- Ensure purchasing cost of assigned commodity complied with project master specification, sourcing divisional goals and other company targets.
- Evaluate, preserve, develop existing suppliers by means of AC management tools, introduce competitive new suppliers to improve supply base competence.
- Collaborate closely with quality & planning team on supplier performance optimization.
- Follow Atlas Copco Way in daily work to implement sourcing mission, vision and strategy.
- Other jobs assigned by management.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 + year experience in sourcing or purchasing area, focus on electronical components and mechanical parts as well, have deep understanding on raw materials and commodities supply market.
- Good knowledge of engineering drawing, with 5 years’ experience within manufacturing environment, proven work record.
- Legal knowledge in contract negotiation.
- Professional knowledge on supplier evaluation & development.
- Language skills in English, able to contact oversea suppliers.
- Cross functional knowledge in sourcing, process management, quality assurance and project management.
- Knowledge of data analysis and cost development.
- Strong understanding of sourcing role in manufacturing companies.
- Good skills in MS software and ERP system.
- Good communication and cooperation and negotiation skills.
- Bachelor’s degree or above, major in electrical or mechanical related.
- Open, team player, proactive, could work under pressure.
- Systematic thinking, good planning and executing capability.
