We are seeking a Sourcing Engineer to manage direct and indirect purchasing activities. The role involves ensuring supplier quality, delivery, cost, and sustainability, driving cost reduction initiatives, and optimizing design for price and lead time.
Responsibilities
- Be responsible for part of direct purchase and all purchasing activities of indirect purchase.
- Ensure compliance to purchasing process and purchasing objective.
- Lead the factory handshake process and follow up implementation to secure supplier Quality, Delivery, Cost and Sustainability.
- Work as team member in handshake process, cooperate with commodity sourcing, region sourcing.
- Drive project to improve supplier sustainability, quality, delivery, cost.
- Complete cost reduction target by negotiation skill or bidding process.
- Work with supplier to create idea to optimize design to decrease price and shorten lead time.
- Keep material availability to meet customer special requirement.
- Conduct purchasing activities and order handling & follow up.
- Be responsible for supplier sourcing, evaluating, negotiating & cost analysis.
- Continually update and maintain supplier profile for China supply base.
- Contract management, including contract initiating, implementing and filing etc.
- Ensure all purchasing initiatives are transparent and carefully evaluated related to Quality, Delivery and Cost.
- Seek the possibility for cost reduction.
- Improve and increase efficiency of purchasing daily business process.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree or above and major in Engineering
- Good mechanical design & mfg. theory and practice
- 5 years purchasing related experience and 3 years purchasing management experience in multinational companies, with preferable in mechanical design and manufacturing expertise
- Experience from change management, project management and Six Sigma
- Strongly personal computer skills-Windows, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
- Independent, teamwork, hard work, self-discipline and proactive attitude
