This 12-month, full-time, on-site Software Application Development Apprenticeship at Google is designed for individuals with a bachelor's degree and less than one year of experience. Apprentices will gain hands-on experience in coding, development, testing, and project management, supported by a tailored training program.
Responsibilities
- Learn and follow coding standards and ensure compliance with quality measures.
- Support the team in the development of software based on agreed projects and platforms.
- Contribute to most aspects of development including implementation and unit testing to ensure high quality deliverables.
- Apply knowledge gained in apprenticeship to real-world applications.
- Ensure code is tested in accordance with the guidelines provided by the team or manager.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in engineering or a related field
- Not currently enrolled in an academic program
- Less than 1 year of experience in software application development
- Programming experience in at least one coding language
Desired Qualifications
- Experience using Google Workspace or a similar suite of productivity tools.
- Experience thinking critically and excellent problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to learn programming language based on project requirements.
- Ability to work independently and within a team framework.
- Ability to navigate multiple ambiguous tasks and competing priorities while finding suitable solutions and seeking help/advice where appropriate.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, self-motivated, positive attitude, and excellent customer service capabilities.
- Enthusiasm and passion for new technologies, demonstrated through personal projects and commitment to learning new skills.
