Atlas Copco is seeking a Service Technician in the Chehalis, WA area to perform routine preventive service, troubleshoot, and repair air compressors and related equipment. This role involves significant customer interaction, documentation, and participation in on-call rotations, with opportunities for travel and paid training.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive service, troubleshoot and repair air compressors, air dryers, drains, controllers, and low-pressure blowers.
- Set, install, and pipe compressor systems.
- Learn advanced topics such as VSD’s, refrigeration, industrial networks, remote monitoring, and air audits.
- Pressure wash and clean customer equipment pads.
- Communicate with customers and Service Manager about services performed and necessary repairs/upgrades.
- Complete all service-related documentation, including service reports, start-up forms, and warranty forms.
- Attend training at Air Academy and train with Senior Service Technicians.
- Promote and practice proper safety procedures and correct use of personal protective equipment.
- Provide a high level of customer service and respond to customer needs.
- Participate in a rotating 24/7/365 on-call pool with travel to customer locations, including out-of-town and overnight travel.
- Be subject to random drug testing.
Requirements
- 1-2 years of technical experience in the mechanical, maintenance, or electrical field.
- Ability to work independently and complete tasks within assigned deadlines.
- Customer-focused with ownership of meeting customer needs.
- Ability to use computers to complete work orders, order parts, and for training.
- Supply all basic required tools.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis and work in industrial environments including extremes in temperature with continuous walking, reaching, bending, and kneeling.
- Basic understanding of mechanics and electrical theory.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver's license.
- Fluent in English.
- Reside within a reasonable commute (30 minutes to one hour) of the assigned territory.
- Ability to park a company-issued service vehicle at residence without restrictions.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with maintenance, overhaul, and repair of a wide variety of industrial equipment, including electrical, hydraulics and/or pneumatics is preferred.
- Experience in HVAC is a plus.
- Certifications are a plus (EPA Certified).
- Occasional travel to Rock Hill, SC for paid training.
