SAP BODS Lead Data Consultant 

Enterprise S/4HANA Digital Transformation Program 

Position Title: Lead Data Consultant Program: Enterprise Digital Transformation — S/4HANA Implementation Location: Hybrid / Remote Duration: 12–18 months (with extension based on rollout timeline) Reports To: Data Architect/Senior Data Architect  

1. Role Context 

We are seeking an experienced SAP Business Objects Data Services (BODS) Consultant with 9-13 years to support a large-scale S/4HANA digital transformation program. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and execution of data migration and integration workstreams, ensuring high-quality data is available across source and target SAP environments. 

Working closely with the Data Architect and cross-functional program teams, this role is critical to delivering accurate, complete, and timely data migration aligned to go-live milestones. Act as the primary point of contact between the data migration team and business stakeholders ,  translating technical constraints into actionable business decisions. 

2. Key Responsibilities 

Data Migration Design & Execution 

• Design and develop SAP BODS data flows, workflows, and data stores for migration of master and transactional data to SAP S/4HANA. 

• Execute data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes across legacy source systems. 

• Lead data profiling, cleansing, and enrichment activities to ensure high-quality migration outputs. 

• Develop and maintain the Migration Strategy Document, Data Migration Plan, and detailed cutover runbooks. 

• Build and maintain reusable BODS objects, scripts, and repositories following program standards. 

• Conduct unit testing, system integration testing (SIT), and user acceptance testing (UAT) support for migration objects. 

• Coordinate mock migration runs, dress rehearsals, and final cutover activities with precision and discipline.

Data Quality & Governance 

• Lead a cross-functional team of data analysts, functional consultants, and technical developers. 

• Define and enforce data migration governance standards, quality gates, and entry/exit criteria for each migration phase. 

• Ensure readiness for go-live by validating data completeness, accuracy, and reconciliation across all migrated objects. 

• Produce and maintain migration reporting artifacts: dashboards, KPIs, migration status reports, and reconciliation logs using Power BI.

Integration & Technical Architecture 

• Design and implement data integration pipelines between SAP S/4HANA and third-party or legacy systems. 

• Configure and maintain SAP Data Services Management Console, repositories, and job server environments. 

• Support integration with SAP Information Steward for data profiling and data lineage tracking. 

• Liaise with the technical and basis teams on system landscape, transport management, and performance tuning.

Program Collaboration 

• Work within an Agile / structured program delivery framework, contributing to sprint planning and sprint reviews. 

• Prepare technical specifications, migration approach documents, and data mapping artefacts. 

• Provide guidance and mentoring to junior data analysts and migration team members. 

• Coordinate with SAP functional consultants (FI, CO, MM, SD, PP) to align data migration with configuration design.

Key Responsibilities

1. To be responsible for providing technical guidance to a team of developers, enhancing their technical capabilities and increasing productivity.
2. To conduct comprehensive code reviews, establish and oversee quality assurance processes, performance optimization , implementation of best practices and coding standards to ensure successful delivery of complex projects.
3. To ensure process compliance in the assigned module| and participate in technical discussions/review as a technical consultant for feasibility study (technical alternatives, best packages, supporting architecture best practices, technical risks, breakdown into components, estimations).
4. To collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, deliverables and accordingly prepare and submit status reports for minimizing exposure & closure of escalations.
