As a Senior Software Engineer on the Windows Engineering System team, you will scale the backbone infrastructure for AI-driven vulnerability discovery and proofing. You will focus on improving throughput, reliability, compute management, and cost efficiency for systems operating at the scale of Windows.

Responsibilities

  • Build AI evals and benchmarks to ensure system health and prevent regression.
  • Scale the vulnerability scanning and proving pipeline by an order of magnitude and enhance reliability.
  • Manage compute and AI infra at Windows-wide scale, including capacity, orchestration, and prioritization.
  • Drive billing/consumption estimation and cost-of-goods modeling for the infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
  • Pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience.
  • OR Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years technical engineering experience.
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience building or operating AI agent / LLM-based systems at production scale.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) pipelines and CI/CD automation.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure (compute, capacity planning, cost-of-goods).
  • Comfortable working with C# and Microsoft technologies, including hands-on experience with Microsoft Copilot CLI, Azure DevOps (ADO) pipelines and CI/CD automation.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and operating large-scale distributed systems or cloud service backends (orchestration, scheduling, autoscaling, or multi-tenant compute).

Benefits

  • Base pay range: USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year (US); USD $160,200 - $261,000 (SF Bay Area and NYC metro areas).
