Senior Facilities Engineer responsible for electrical infrastructure, power management, engineering design, and project management. Ensures compliance with regulations, drives sustainability initiatives, and leads operational excellence and digital transformation using AI/ML.
Responsibilities
- Manage HT/LT electrical systems, transformers, switchgear, UPS, generators, and power monitoring systems.
- Perform power load assessments for new business requirements and expansion projects.
- Monitor electrical reliability, power quality, and system availability via BMS.
- Implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies and conduct energy audits.
- Develop SOPs and standardization for all activities and lead root cause analysis for electrical incidents.
- Lead electrical engineering design reviews for expansions, fit-outs, renovations, data centers, and workplace infrastructure.
- Prepare and validate electrical load calculations, power distribution schemes, UPS integration, and DG integration.
- Review and approve MEP drawings, layouts, specifications, and engineering submissions.
- Ensure compliance with NBC, BIS, IEC, ECBC, LEED, and local statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, landlords, and project teams.
- Drive engineering innovation and standardization across facilities.
- Ensure compliance with Indian Electricity Rules, NBC, Fire & Life Safety, Environmental Regulations, OHS, and Corporate Engineering Standards.
- Manage statutory inspections, audits, certifications, and regulatory approvals.
- Maintain documentation, SOPs, permits, and compliance records.
- Develop and monitor corrective action plans from audits and inspections.
- Lead sustainability initiatives aligned with organizational ESG objectives.
- Develop energy reduction roadmaps and carbon footprint reduction strategies.
- Drive programs for energy efficiency, water conservation, waste reduction, circular economy, and renewable energy integration.
- Promote Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle initiatives.
- Track and report sustainability KPIs and environmental performance metrics.
- Lead workplace safety programs and engineering risk assessments.
- Ensure compliance with fire safety, electrical safety, and emergency preparedness requirements.
- Support Emergency Response Team (ERT) programs and mock drills.
- Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments.
- Develop engineering controls to eliminate unsafe conditions.
- Drive a proactive safety culture throughout facility operations.
- Establish best-in-class facility management practices.
- Develop KPIs, dashboards, and performance reporting mechanisms.
- Enhance equipment uptime, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, and RCM.
- Standardize maintenance processes and engineering procedures.
- Manage vendor performance through measurable SLAs and KPIs.
- Prepare and manage engineering operating budgets and capital expenditure plans.
- Identify cost saving opportunities without compromising safety or service quality.
- Optimize utility consumption, maintenance expenses, service contracts, asset lifecycle costs, and capital investments.
- Deliver measurable annual cost savings and operational efficiencies.
- Lead smart facility initiatives using digital technologies.
- Deploy AI and ML solutions for predictive maintenance, energy optimization, space utilization, automation, cost reduction, and experience improvement.
- Develop intelligent dashboards and automated reporting systems.
- Leverage IoT and BMS for data-driven decision-making.
- Drive innovation through predictive analytics and smart building technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering / Power System.
- 3+ years of Facilities Engineering or related work experience.
- OR Associate's degree and 5+ years of Facilities Engineering or related work experience.
- 10–15+ years of experience in engineering in Property and facilities management.
- Experience supporting corporate campuses, R&D facilities, technology workplaces or critical infrastructure environments.
- Hands-on experience managing large-scale engineering projects and facility operations.
- Experience with HT/LT electrical systems, transformers, switchgear, UPS systems, generators, and power monitoring systems.
- Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
- Experience in energy audits and identifying improvement opportunities.
- Experience in leading root cause analysis (RCA) for major electrical incidents and outages.
- Experience in electrical engineering design reviews.
- Experience in preparing and validating electrical load calculations, power distribution schemes, UPS requirements, DG integration, and redundancy planning.
- Experience reviewing and approving MEP drawings, layouts, specifications, and engineering submissions.
- Knowledge of NBC, BIS, IEC, ECBC, LEED and local statutory requirements.
- Experience coordinating with consultants, contractors, landlords, and project teams.
- Knowledge of Indian Electricity Rules, National Building Code (NBC), Fire & Life Safety Standards, Environmental Regulations, Occupational Health & Safety Requirements, and Corporate Engineering Standards.
