Alstom is looking for a full-time Project Director in the United States to manage strategic rolling stock projects. The role involves overseeing project delivery, managing risks, budgets, schedules, and leading multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project outcomes in the rail industry.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and develop/monitor detailed schedules.
  • Supervise project teams and lead the implementation of necessary changes and improvements.
  • Manage client interfaces and ensure effective communication.
  • Identify and manage project risks, opportunities, and improvements.
  • Oversee project launches and manage necessary changes.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and protect Alstom’s legal rights.
  • Allocate and monitor project budgets and provide internal status and financial performance reporting.
  • Lead core project team members and optimize their efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the Customer Director/Platform to identify additional opportunities.

Requirements

  • Degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Significant experience (20+ years) in project management or a related industry.
  • Proficiency in English (mandatory).
  • Experience in the transportation industry, ideally in rolling stock.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and work in a collaborative environment.

Desired Qualifications

  • A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification – a plus.
