Volvo Cars Košice is seeking a Production Supervisor for its Body in White (BIW) department. This role involves leading and developing production teams, driving operational excellence, and ensuring safe, stable, and efficient production. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, proven leadership in manufacturing, and experience with Lean principles.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team within the BIW production area, creating clarity, accountability, and engagement.
  • Drive production performance by ensuring delivery of safety, quality, cost, and productivity targets.
  • Coordinate resources, staffing, and daily operations to secure stable production output.
  • Manage priorities using Real Time Management principles and support problem-solving activities.
  • Optimize the utilization of people, equipment, and materials within your area of responsibility.
  • Coach and support Team Leaders and team members through regular feedback, training, and development activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, standardized work, and Lean manufacturing practices.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Maintenance, Logistics, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and other plant functions to improve overall production flow.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and learning-oriented work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, legal requirements, and Volvo Cars Manufacturing System (VCMS) principles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proven leadership experience from manufacturing, production, or industrial operations.
  • Experience in highly automated production environments.
  • Strong people leadership and coaching capabilities with a passion for developing others.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing principles, Standardized Work, 5S, Andon, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills combined with a hands-on approach.
  • Ability to manage fast-paced operations and make data-driven decisions.
  • Good English and Slovak communication skills.

  • Automotive industry experience is an advantage.
