This role involves providing technical support and training to internal teams and external customers on advanced underground mining drilling equipment, acting as a go-to technical resource and subject matter expert.
Responsibilities
- Provide high quality product technical support for Sandvik internal personnel and external customers.
- Develop the technical competencies of both internal and external personnel.
- Act as a go-to technical resource for Sandvik ITH drilling equipment.
- Support customers and Sandvik teams across Canada.
- Work with advanced drilling technology and solve complex technical challenges.
- Train technicians and customers.
- Ensure equipment performs at its best in demanding mining environments.
- Provide pre-sales and/or post-sales technical support including commissioning, installing, testing, and maintaining products, equipment, and systems.
- Provide guidance to internal stakeholders through product training and technical support.
- Troubleshoot, investigate, resolve, and develop innovative solutions to complex technical problems.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend new products or equipment upgrades.
- Monitor and resolve recurring complex problems, collaborating with internal technical team.
- Establish and maintain ongoing positive relationships to secure and develop future business.
- Train customers on the features of purchased equipment.
Requirements
- Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Technician certification
- Minimum 5 years of technical experience
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic and electronic systems
- Experience troubleshooting and diagnosing complex equipment problems
- Mining, drilling or heavy mobile equipment experience strongly valued
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
- Ability and interest in training, coaching and transferring technical knowledge
- Comfortable working in underground mine environments
- Ability to travel approximately 70% of the time
- Strong organization and time-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; French is an asset
