Alfa Laval is seeking a full-time PHE Mechanic for an on-site role in Greer, SC. Responsibilities include equipment receipt, inspection, repair, testing, and packaging, as well as disassembling and rebuilding PHEs. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated team player with a high school diploma and experience in a manual shop environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform equipment receipt, inspection, repair, testing, and packaging following quality standards, SOPs, and safety guidelines.
- Disassemble PHEs, clean, and rebuild them to new standards.
- Receive, count, verify, label, and store all parts.
- Uncrate, remove gaskets, and disassemble PHEs.
- Perform dye penetration inspection to identify irregularities in plates.
- Clean units (pressure wash) and paint if specified.
- Install new gaskets per specification (glue, snap, or clip).
- Assemble plates for packaging or into frames per drawings.
- Communicate the need for replenishment of supplies, tools, and repair parts to supervision.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following 5S standards.
- Uncrate and assemble additional items for customers as directed.
- Uncrate customer-supplied parts and assemble or repackage as necessary.
- Pick up and deliver customer equipment as needed.
- Handle shipping, receiving, and distribution of Alfa Laval and customer equipment.
- Actively participate in daily ALPS meetings.
Requirements
- High School diploma or Equivalent.
- Ability to use measuring devices (tape measure, depth micrometer) as required.
- Good hand-eye coordination.
- Flexible and a team player.
- Ability to clock in and out, scan bar codes, and take photos.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a manual shop environment is preferred.
- Experience operating fork lift trucks, hand pallet jacks, and overhead cranes is preferred.
