Atlas Copco seeks a Manufacturing Engineer Project & Process to plan and execute capital investment projects and manufacturing process improvements. This role involves evaluating and qualifying new production equipment, managing cross-functional teams, and contributing to product development. The position is hybrid, based in Wilrijk, Belgium.

Responsibilities

  • Independently plan, execute, and deliver capital investment projects and manufacturing process improvements.
  • Specify, budget, and qualify new production equipment and coating technologies.
  • Conduct technical and commercial evaluations for capital goods.
  • Optimize for ergonomics, safety, maintenance, and unit cost reduction.
  • Act as project leader, assembling cross-functional teams and managing budgets and timelines.
  • Present feasibility studies to management and report progress.
  • Provide early-stage manufacturability input to product development teams.
  • Troubleshoot production launch phases and audit equipment availability during warranty periods.
  • Work on digital manufacturing and software systems integration (SOFE, Ignition, CAQ, GEMS, Delmia).

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Electromechanical Engineering (Civil or Industrial Engineer).
  • Several years of hands-on experience preferred.
  • Broad technical foundation with specialized knowledge in manufacturing processes.
  • Practical experience with coating processes (e.g., Z-coat) is a strong advantage.
  • Strong interest or experience in digital manufacturing systems and software integration (Ignition, CAQ, Delmia, GEMS, SOFE).
  • Thorough understanding of industrial engineering principles, ergonomics, safety regulations, and capital expenditure procedures (NPPI methodology).
  • Creative, analytical, and entrepreneurial mindset with a cost-, environment-, and safety-conscious approach.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with high autonomy.
  • Clear communication and a strong result-driven orientation.
  • Fluent communication skills in Dutch and English (written and spoken).
  • Willingness to undertake short-term external assignments or trips.
