As a Machine Operator at Alfa Laval in Tulsa/Broken Arrow, OK, you will operate and maintain various machines to fabricate structural parts. Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain conventional and special-purpose machines for fabricating structural parts.
  • Read blueprints and job specifications to guide machine operations.
  • Set up, operate, load, machine, unload, and de-bur parts.
  • Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions for accuracy.
  • Select and secure necessary tools, fixtures, accessories, and materials.
  • Monitor machine operations, identify malfunctions, and perform adjustments.
  • Replace and install machined parts, testing for proper functionality.
  • Transport product to assigned departments and assist with rigging and transport of structures.
  • Maintain a tidy work area and comply with safety policies and company procedures.
  • Crosstrain in different areas to enhance team flexibility.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year of professional experience related to manufacturing (preferred)
  • Basic math skills including the ability to read a tape measure and calipers
  • Demonstrated ability to read blueprints (preferred)
  • Experience using industrial machines (preferred)
  • Forklift operation certification (preferred)
  • Overhead crane experience (preferred)
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following equipment: radial drills, fin tube machinery, large vertical band saw, presses, breaks, and shears.

Desired Qualifications

  • Ability to exert up to 50 lbs of force occasionally; 30 lbs of force frequently.
  • Ability to stand or walk for 80% of the workday.
  • Visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment.
  • Mobility & Posture: Standing, walking, crouching, stooping, kneeling, and balancing on varied surfaces.
  • Manual Dexterity: Reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling, and lifting objects using upper body strength.
  • Fine Motor Skills: Repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and fingers for precision tasks.
  • Clear verbal expressions and active listening for communication.
  • Adequate hearing for work environment communication.
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment: steel toe boots, safety glasses, and ear plugs.
  • Ability to work near hazards like moving machinery, vehicles, electrical currents, and chemicals.
  • Exposure to atmospheric conditions such as fumes, dust, gases, odors, and poor ventilation.
  • Ability to operate in confined spaces.
