Saab, Inc. seeks a Lead Logistics Analyst to develop and optimize logistics strategies for U.S. locations, managing global material movements and ensuring compliance with import/export regulations. This role requires collaboration with various teams to improve deliveries, reduce costs, and maintain effective freight programs.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a member of the Supply Chain Management team, reporting to the Director of Supply Chain.
- Develop logistics strategies for all U.S. locations in support of DoD, FAA, and commercial programs.
- Establish, maintain, and optimize global material movements in collaboration with Material Handling, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality teams.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain and Material Handling leadership to develop effective freight and freight forwarding service provider programs.
- Evaluate current logistics structures and work with Supply Chain and Material Handling teams to improve deliveries, receipts, and outbound freight while reducing risk and total costs.
- Monitor the movement of assigned materials throughout the supply chain from origin to final delivery, aligning with operational requirements established by Supply Chain Planning and Supplier Program Managers (SPM).
- Facilitate and maintain communication with SPM team members, 3PLs, brokers, government agencies, and suppliers to ensure successful material movements.
- Develop logistics SOPs and ensure company-wide compliance with all logistics procedures, including import and export shipping requirements.
- Travel domestically as required, up to 10% annually.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Supply Chain or Logistics) with 8+ years of experience in import and export compliance requirements and customs regulations, international and domestic logistics, and freight program development; or a Master’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and presentation skills.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems, preferably Oracle.
- Strong analytical aptitude with the ability to analyze and interpret data.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, multitask, and support concurrent requirements for multiple internal and external customers.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
