ABB Oy is seeking an HSE Intern for its IEC LV Motors division in Vaasa, Finland. The intern will support the local HSE team with daily tasks, including chemical risk assessments, waste management, and developing HSE processes. This is an on-site internship for students, with a maximum of 18 working hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Assist, develop, and maintain various HSE processes, systems, and tools.
  • Promote HSE risk awareness and risk control.
  • Support the organization in developing an excellent health and safety culture.
  • Conduct chemical risk assessments and maintain the Chemical database.
  • Prepare HSE communication and awareness materials.
  • Handle tasks related to Personal Protective Equipment, Waste management and Recycling, Energy efficiency development, and Critical safety risks management.
  • Provide general HSE introductions and onboarding for employees and summer trainees.
  • Cooperate closely with Operations, R&D, HR, Occupational health care teams, Safety representatives, and external suppliers.
  • Participate in workplace surveys, risk assessments, and production-related HSE development tasks.
  • Develop and simplify HSE processes and tools using AI, videos, etc.

Requirements

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. student with HSE related studies or genuine interest in HSE development.
  • Fluent Finnish language skills.
  • Moderate English language skills.
  • Proficiency in Office tools: Excel, Power Point, Power BI, Sharepoint, and Teams.
