Volvo Cars is seeking a Head of Body Shop / Senior Manager for their new electric car factory in Kosice, Slovakia. This role involves managing production processes, personnel, and driving continuous improvement to meet safety, quality, volume, cost, and environmental targets in a highly automated OEM/Tier1 environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage processes and personnel within the Body Shop.
- Ensure production targets for Safety, Quality, Volume, Cost, Delivery Precision, and Environmental are met.
- Drive process improvements, cost reduction, and continuous improvement activities.
- Oversee department activities and all aspects of people planning.
- Organize daily workflow, ensure accountability, and handle people issues.
- Provide training plans, develop know-how, coach, and execute trainings.
- Act as a role model for Volvo Cars values and encourage a speak-up culture.
Requirements
- 10+ years of management experience in a highly automated OEMs/Tier1 environment, preferably in Bodyshop.
- University education in Industrial, Mechanical/Mechatronic, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- Exceptional understanding of Bodyshop manufacturing processes, 5S, Standard Work, Andon, and real-time production management.
- Excellent listening, speaking, writing, and presentation skills in English.
- Experience with manning and flexible manning systems.
- Real-Time Management skills.
- Problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset and methods.
- Ability to lead cross-functional kaizen activities.
- Leadership experience.
- Coaching skills.
- Performance Management skills.
