Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety first and lead by example in following site/lab standards.
  • Support risk assessments and safe methods of work, driving hazard resolution.
  • Set up and run test rigs, sensors, and instrumentation for reliable data collection.
  • Execute test plans using DAQ equipment and software, troubleshooting to root cause.
  • Capture high-quality data and produce clear, concise reports.
  • Plan and prioritize work, communicating progress, risks, and outcomes.
  • Support and mentor apprentices and junior technicians.
  • Own lab areas and standards, driving 6S and equipment care.
  • Build, configure, and strip pumps and test hardware for fault-finding and iteration.
  • Drive improvements and upgrades to enhance capability, reliability, and safety.

Requirements

  • Technician apprenticeship (or equivalent) plus 5+ years post-apprenticeship experience.
  • Proven problem-solver with experience in fault finding, root cause analysis, and test investigation.
  • Strong IT skills, including confidence with test software and spreadsheets.
  • Hands-on experience with sensors (pressure, temperature, flow, vibration), DAQ, and signal quality.
  • Measurement-first mindset, understanding uncertainty and improving instrumentation.
  • Experience in development, research, or industrial test environments.
  • Mechanical build/test experience with motors, drives, rotating equipment, and rig assembly.
  • Practical workshop skills with manual machinery, emphasizing safety and quality.
  • Clear communicator able to translate test results into concise updates.
  • Ability to learn new tools quickly and produce accurate, traceable test reports.
