ABB is seeking an R&D/Data Science/AI Engineer with expertise in industrial analytics for their Process Automation Digital organization in Bangalore, India. This full-time, on-site role involves developing and implementing AI/ML-based digital solutions for machinery monitoring and diagnostics, leveraging Python, deep learning frameworks, and agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize, define, and build industry-specific digital solutions.
  • Develop machine learning and artificial intelligence-based solutions for process automation.
  • Implement machinery and process monitoring and diagnostic digital solutions.
  • Develop working prototypes for evaluation and customer demonstration.
  • Leverage latest developments in AI/ML field with cross-functional industrial data.
  • Develop base algorithms for asset performance and lifting scenarios.
  • Create scalable models and algorithms for integration into proprietary tools and products.
  • Analyze data, understand features, evaluate models, and validate hypotheses.
  • Create statistical and predictive models for equipment monitoring, failure detection, life estimation, and extension.
  • Build tools for data analysis, cleansing, feature selection, and feature engineering.
  • Work closely with customers and Business Units to develop customer-centric solutions.
  • Practice agile development of digital solution Proof of Concepts.
  • Provide industry-specific domain insights for proposal responses.

Requirements

  • PhD / M. Tech. / MS in Statistics/ Physics or any branch of engineering.
  • 2 to 5 years of overall work experience in data science for industrial analytics problem statements.
  • Extensive programming experience in Python (preferred), R, Matlab®, C, and C++.
  • Experience with deep learning frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow is preferred.
  • Familiarity with technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, and ML flow is good to have.
  • Agile development of customer-centric prototypes / Proof of Concepts for focused digital solutions.
