AWS Infrastructure Services seeks a Data Center Manager in Mumbai, India, to lead global cloud infrastructure operations, ensuring safety, security, and cost efficiency. Responsibilities
- Manage and develop teams of engineers, providing technical and leadership expertise.
- Maintain existing co-located and in-house Data Centers.
- Assist in building and bringing online new Data Centers.
- Continuously improve processes and procedures.
- Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors.
- Liaise with internal teams and management groups.
- Ensure adherence to and exceed local Health & Safety standards.
- Create and maintain metrics to drive positive changes in Data Center operations.
- Assist in implementing service methodologies like incident, problem, change, and capacity management.
Requirements
- 4+ years of data center engineering or operations experience.
- 3+ years of managing technical teams with significant personnel management experience.
- Demonstrated experience in developing engineers and building successful teams.
- Experience managing high and low performing employees, including conflict management.
- Extensive experience dealing with high severity situations, understanding wider implications and consequences of outages.
- Experience in Change Management & Fault Management.
- Proven experience dealing with external vendors, contractors, and security companies, including problem and conflict management.
- Ability to demonstrate improvement of both good and bad working processes, including process mapping and remediation implementation.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above in engineering or equivalent STEM field, or 4+ years of network and operating system support experience.
- 1+ years of Agile methods and processes experience.
- Experience in capacity planning, operations planning, business analysis, or similar.
- Knowledge of Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma concepts.
- Experience implementing change management successfully transitioning programs into large-scale operations.
- Experience in Kaizen/Lean/Six Sigma is preferable.
- Experience managing both high & low performing employees will be of advantage along with conflict management.
