Responsibilities

  • Commissioning, servicing and fault finding of new and existing equipment.
  • Performing I/O tests on control equipment.
  • Performing electrical and mechanical fault finding on equipment.
  • Performing trial test runs to ensure performance rates and quality meet specifications.
  • Documenting serviced equipment, parts used, and travel/site hours for customer invoicing.
  • Performing preventive mechanical maintenance service calls on customer equipment.
  • Assisting and training customer personnel on equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Providing process and technical support to the department and customers.
  • Working with the sales team on equipment audits to generate new business.
  • Meeting KPIs for the service team, including job reports and timesheets.

Requirements

  • Completed a recognised apprenticeship, or reached a minimum level of technical training (City and Guilds/NVQ/BTEC/Degree).
  • Strong working background in mechanical and electrical maintenance.
  • High level of competence with electronic equipment testing and fault finding.
  • Exposure to SCADA and PLCs.
  • Ability to read schematic diagrams is essential.
  • Full driving licence is essential.
  • PC literate and comfortable using laptops for daily tasks.

Desired Qualifications

  • Ideally with separation equipment experience (beneficial but not essential).
  • Experience on automated production lines, generators, compressors, pumps.
  • Exposure to Alfa Laval core equipment would be advantageous.
  • Previous industry backgrounds could include wastewater, food and brewery, food processing plants, power stations, factory automation, marine or military.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and numerate.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good organisation and planning abilities.
  • Enjoy working alone.
  • Ability to spend several nights away from home as required.
  • Good level of physical fitness.
  • Willingness to travel across the UK as required.
  • The successful candidate will be based in the central belt of England.
