As a Senior Automotive Module Product Engineer in Tijuana, Mexico, you will be responsible for the lifecycle of integrated SOCs and QAMs for automotive applications. Your role will involve supporting new product introduction, silicon characterization, production test development, and customer support, working closely with global cross-functional teams to ensure product commercialization and manufacturing readiness.
Responsibilities
- Bring up of new system level test (SLT) HW platforms and handler solutions.
- Development and automation of SW test modules.
- Test program integration.
- Optimization of test modules for stability and validation across temperature.
- Developing/executing test strategies and test plans.
- Troubleshooting/analyzing problems.
- Performing systems correlation for power and thermal.
- Evaluating and qualifying HW solutions.
- Debug and failure analysis.
- Customer support.
- Integrates features and functionality into hardware designs & test.
- Collaborates with teams (design, verification, validation, software and systems engineering, architecture development) to implement new requirements and incorporate the latest test solutions.
- Evaluates, characterizes, and develops manufacturing solutions for leading edge products.
- Evaluates reliability of materials, properties, and techniques.
- Brings innovation, automation, and optimization to maximize productivity.
- Assists in the assessment of complex design features to identify potential flaws, compatibility issues, and/or compliance issues.
- Writes detailed technical documentation for hardware projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in product development, SLT and Bench Level testing, silicon validation, characterization, or high-volume production test for semiconductor products.
- Understanding of computer architecture and operating systems (Android, Windows, Linux, or RTOS).
- Experience with embedded systems, SoC-level testing concepts and AI applications.
- Ability to develop or execute test cases for processors, graphics, memory, thermal behavior, and power performance of SoCs.
- Experience reading specifications, creating test plans, and using test sequencers.
- Familiarity with source control systems such as Perforce or Git.
- Programming experience in one or more of the following languages: C, C++, Python, C#, or .NET.
- Experience with debugging or triage using Android debugging tools, JTAG, Lauterbach, or Trace32.
- Hands-on experience with lab measurement tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and power supplies.
- Ability to collect, analyze, interpret, and summarize test data.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional engineering teams and communicate technical information clearly.
- Works independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Decision-making may affect work beyond immediate work group.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Outspoken and self motivated.
- Tasks require multiple steps which can be performed in various orders; some planning, problem-solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.
Desired Qualifications
- Understanding of Android system architecture and boot process.
- Familiarity with system-level benchmarks such as Dhrystone and DOU.
- Relevant academic work, projects, or internships in silicon validation, embedded systems, or hardware bring-up.
