Volvo Truck & Bus is seeking motivated individuals for their Apprentice HGV Technician program starting in May and August 2027. This 32-month Advanced Level Apprenticeship offers hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology, expert training, and a clear path for career advancement, including IMI qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Assist with repairs using Volvo Standard Times and Special Tools.
- Participate in fault diagnosis processes.
- Learn and comply with warranty procedures.
- Work with the parts team to ensure correct parts are fitted.
- Learn to use Volvo special tools safely and efficiently.
- Assist with workshop cleaning.
- Ensure company time recording procedures are followed and job cards are completed accurately.
- Report all vehicle defects to the workshop Supervisor.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.
- Attend college courses regularly and achieve required standards.
- Attend any technical or development training made available.
Requirements
- Enthusiastic individuals with a strong interest in heavy vehicles.
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems and a desire to learn.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Strong communication skills and a team player mentality.
- Desired qualifications: GCSE A* to C/Grade 4 in Math and English.

- Apprenticeship Standard Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician - Bus, Coach and HGV.
