Sandvik Coromant in the UK is seeking a technical and solution-oriented Application Specialist to join their Sales team. This role involves providing technical expertise in engineering cutting tools and metalworking applications, collaborating with Account Managers, and ensuring customers maximize the benefits of Sandvik Coromant products. The ideal candidate will have a degree in mechanical/manufacturing engineering or a related field, proven technical experience with cutting tools, and knowledge of CAD/CAM.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver technical expertise in engineering cutting tools and metal working applications to customers.
  • Collaborate and support Account Managers with technical demonstrations and presentations.
  • Ensure Sandvik Coromant products are applied correctly to provide maximum customer benefit.
  • Assist Account Managers with value generating and cost saving activities to identify and secure business opportunities.

Requirements

  • Solid and proven technical experience with engineering cutting tools skills and knowledge.
  • Proven track record in delivering good business results.
  • Understanding of CAD/CAM and relevant application knowledge.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in mechanical/manufacturing engineering or a related field.
  • Sales experience.
  • Ability to take ownership and challenge existing processes.
  • Work independently with back-up from colleagues.
  • Determined approach.

Desired Qualifications

  • Project management skills and previous experience is an advantage.
  • Managing customer relationships is an advantage.
