AI Engineer with GenAI expertise sought to develop advanced technical solutions and integrate cutting-edge generative AI technologies. This role requires foundational understanding of modern technical and cloud-native practices, AI, DevOps, and machine learning, particularly in generative models, to support customers from ideation to MVP.

Responsibilities

  • Develop solutions leveraging GenAI technologies and integrating advanced AI capabilities into cloud-native architectures.
  • Lead the design and implementation of GenAI-driven applications within microservices and container-based environments.
  • Create solutions leveraging microservice and container-based environments in public, private, and hybrid clouds.
  • Contribute to HCL thought leadership in the Cloud Native domain with expert understanding of open-source technologies.
  • Collaborate on joint technical projects with partners like Google, Microsoft, AWS, IBM, Red Hat, Intel, Cisco, and Dell/VMware.
  • Engineer innovative GenAI solutions from ideation to MVP, ensuring high performance and reliability.
  • Optimize AI models for deployment in cloud environments.
  • Assess complex solutions and recommend technical treatments to transform applications with cloud-native/12-factor characteristics.
  • Refactor existing solutions to implement a microservices-based architecture.
  • Drive adoption of GenAI technologies within cloud-native projects.
  • Engage in technical innovation and support HCL’s industry leadership.
  • Author whitepapers and blogs, and potentially speak at industry events.
  • Maintain hands-on technical credibility and stay ahead of industry trends.
  • Provide expert guidance to clients on incorporating GenAI and machine learning into their cloud-native systems.
  • Conduct workshops and briefings to educate clients on GenAI benefits and applications.
  • Perform a trusted advisor role in technical projects (PoCs and MVPs).

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in Java, Python, and Kubernetes.
  • Comfortable working as part of a paired/balanced team.
  • Foundational experience in software development with exposure to AI/ML technologies.
  • Proficiency in GenAI frameworks and libraries such as OpenAI API.
  • Experience in prompt engineering: designing and optimizing prompts for AI models.
  • Experience developing solutions leveraging cloud-native technologies (container-based, microservices-based) applying 12-factor principles.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Positive and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Experience delivering Agile and Scrum projects in a Jira-based project management environment.
  • At least one recognized cloud professional / developer certification (AWS/Google/Microsoft).

Desired Qualifications

  • Understanding of NLP techniques and tools, including tokenization, embeddings, transformers, and language models.
  • Knowledgeable about AI ethics and bias mitigation strategies.
  • Knowledgeable about vector databases, LLMs, and integrating with such models.
  • Proficient with Kubernetes and other cloud-native technologies, including experience with commercial Kubernetes distributions (e.g., Red Hat OpenShift, VMware Tanzu, Google Anthos, Azure AKS, Amazon EKS, Google GKE).
  • Understanding of core practices including DevOps, SRE, Agile, Scrum, Domain-Driven Design.
  • Familiarity with the CNCF open-source community.
  • Recognized with cloud and technical certifications, ideally including AI/ML specializations from providers like Google, Microsoft, AWS, Linux Foundation, IBM, or Red Hat.
