Synopsys seeks a Senior Associate for Academic/Outreach to bridge the gap between structural engineering software and its effective use in academia. Responsibilities

  • Build curriculum materials for structural engineering disciplines, including lectures, tutorials, learning pathways, assessment libraries, and certification programs.
  • Work directly with professors, researchers, and student teams at universities to understand their goals and translate them into content and adoption strategies.
  • Develop content plans based on input from academic field teams, application engineers, business units, and educators.
  • Deliver training sessions, guest lectures, webinars, and workshops on applying Ansys Mechanical and LS-DYNA to structural analysis problems.
  • Support the academic field sales team by strengthening university relationships and providing technical guidance.
  • Represent Ansys at conferences and academic events to grow adoption and gather feedback.
  • Stay current on pedagogical trends, educational technology, and structural engineering practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or a related discipline with 3+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 1+ years of experience in industry or academia.
  • Demonstrated hands-on use of Ansys Mechanical and Ansys LS-DYNA, or equivalent experience with commercial simulation software for structural analysis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 40% of the time.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Desired Qualifications

  • A PhD in a structural engineering discipline is a plus.
  • Experience teaching, developing educational content, or working as a teaching assistant at the university level is a plus.
  • Comfortable walking into a conversation with a professor about their curriculum challenges and walking out with a plan.
  • Experience using simulation software in real applications.
  • Creative enough to make structural analysis feel approachable.
  • Works well across time zones and cultures.
  • A self-starter who does not need to be told what to do next.
  • Balances urgency with quality.
  • Team-oriented mindset.
