Sr. Advanced Project Engineer – Mechanical System and Components

Job Expectations:

The Sr. Adv Project Engineer will be responsible for the Controller Software and Hardware activities for their assigned scope in the Environmental control System (ECS) product line.

  • Develop/understand Environmental control System Architecture, Control methods, System Simulation, Hardware and Software Architecture, Hardware and Software requirements, design, development and verification activities. 
  • Experience in project execution with Agile Development team and played a scrum master role".
  • The Project Engineer is responsible for coordinating all milestone reviews for equipment developed within the work package. 
  • The Project Engineer is responsible for all data deliverables within his/her work package, and that all required functional groups (including Quality & Configuration Management).
  • The Project Engineer will co-ordinate all engineering technical interfaces and will be the point of contact for technical discussions. 
  • Ownership for projects financial performance.  Monitor performance monthly and review estimates versus actuals to continually improve the projects operational metrics.
  • Management of the program plan including scope, schedule, cost, technical, resource, and risk management
  • As the responsible technical leader, he/she will monitor the progress of all engineering tasks, keeping the Engineering IPT Lead and program management informed.
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of a program budget within the framework of the work breakdown structure (WBS) and funding allocation with Program Planning & Control (PP&C) analyst.
  • Continuous monitoring of program costs, identification and resolution of all program areas related to cost performance, surveillance of work performed to date versus actual cost to date, reporting of program cost information to the program manager.
  • He/she will coordinate the Program Change Control Board, and ensure that the Program Baseline is updated with all approved changes.
  • Project Engineering will drive the schedule & resource status-ing with the help of PP&C. Ensure MAT/EOC and HMR updated.
  • Contribute to HTS product strategies, technology roadmaps and improvements in engineering quality and productivity. Support proposal preparation for the growth of the ECS Controls Product group
  • Work with Offering Management and Chiefs to conceptualize the solutions and drive TRL (technology readiness level 6) for new technology. 
  • Conduct integrated product development system (IPDS) meeting across all stake holders and represent HTS in the program IPDS.
  • Present HTS in Global Program review at COE level

  • PM/PE / GPMO Academy graduate
  • Experience with the software and Hardware development and certification process DO-178B/C, DO-254 and DO-160G.
  • Extensive experience in managing complex engineering development programs including new product introductions (NPI)
  • Project performance Baseline Management and Scope Change Control Operating Systems.
  • Anticipate program risks and address them before they become critical issues for our customers, markets, or program metric.
  • Ability to communicate complex program management and financial issues to all levels, effectively linking program performance with financial results and product line strategies.
  • Ability to make sound and timely judgments in ambiguous environment
  • Extensive experience in Earned Value project and program management
  • Proven excellence in effective communication, interactive and presentation skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Integrated Product Delivery & Support (IPDS)
  • Ability to provide technical and programmatic guidance, project management, consultative services, and innovative solutions
