The Role: Software Developer - Java

The Team: We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and skilled software engineer for Sustainable1. This developer would help us to accelerate our automation efforts.

The Impact: The Senior Software Engineer will work to improve and enhance the architecture, design, scalability, and performance of our evolving automation needs

Responsibilities:

Design, and implement software components for our shared automation capabilities platform.

Perform analysis and articulate solutions.

Design underlying engineering for multiple product offerings supporting a large volume of end-users.

Develop project plans with task breakdowns and estimates.

Manage and improve existing solutions.

Solve a variety of complex problems and figure out possible solutions, weighing the costs and benefits.

Perform other duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors/Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent.
5+ years experience in application development
Proficient with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies like Agile, Test-driven development
Proficient with Python, with Java/J2EE , Scala, and C# are a plus
Experience with stream processing engines like Kafka, Spark, etc.
Experience in building event-driven scalable & resilient systems
Experience with Big Data platforms such as Apache Hadoop and Apache Spark, NiFi
Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (Elasticsearch)
Experience with CI/CD tools such as ArgoCD, GitLab etc.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform
Experience with containerization technologies and orchestration (Docker and Kubernetes)

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity and/or enthusiasm with Data Science / Machine Learning is a plus
Familiarity and/or enthusiasm with MLOps
Experience working in cloud computing environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
Experience in Databricks, SnowFlake
Experience building APIs
Experience with Data Engineering
Experience with Document Storage Systems
Experience with DAG orchestration such as Airflow etc
