In one sentence

As an Amdocs technical communications expert, you’ll be responsible for explaining the company’s products to its customers. In addition to writing and editing, you’ll have an opportunity to refine your existing expertise in a broad range of technical documentation areas, including knowledge elicitation, use of documentation tools, and the establishment and refinement of publication structures and standards.

What will your job look like?

Drawing on writing expertise and product knowledge, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that documentation products meet industry standards of quality, usability, and format. Based on design documents, presentations, Focus Team meetings attendance, and SME interviews, you’ll prepare clear and accurate product documents.

The job typically includes full responsibility for all official documents of one or more product applications.

Product Application Publication Expert

• Responsible for all documents of one or more Amdocs products. In charge of the application's documentation framework, as well as the content of its publications.
• Generates documents from raw materials, Focus Team information, and SME interviews.
• Generates User Guides independently by interaction with the product’s user interface.
• Attends Design Reviews, Opportunity team and Focus team meetings, and updates documents accordingly.

Maintenance

• Maintains documentation of all versions of the product's publications.

All you need is...

Technical Skills and Qualifications

Excellent understanding of the technical and business aspects of software development (software development background – a strong advantage)

Experience in documenting developer-oriented documentation

Basic understanding of programming and familiarity with the basics of API design

Basic knowledge of developer tools

Ability to attend Focus Teams and deduce the information required for the documents

Skills with editing and screen-capture tools, such as Power Point, Visio, and SnagIt.

Strong advantage: Knowledge of cloud infrastructure technologies, such as AWS, GCP, Azure, and others

Strong advantage: Programming or software testing background

Strong advantage: Knowledge of Documentation as Code methodology and tools (Git and markup languages)

Advantage: Experience in an Agile environment

Advantage: Knowledge of Confluence and Jira

Education / Experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

4+ years of experience in technical writing in a software development company – a must

Languages

English at mother-tongue level
