What you need to know about the role:

The Director of Engineering for the Crypto Platform Team within PayPal's BCDC department is a critical leadership position responsible for spearheading the technical vision, strategy, and execution of PayPal's digital asset and Web3 initiatives.

Meet our team:

This role will focus on the development and enhancement of PayPal's Trading Platform, which serves as the central component of the Buy and Sell platform for PayPal and Venmo. As part of this role, the Director of Engineering will contribute to the expansion of PayPal's digital asset product offerings, playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of digital financial services.

Provide visionary leadership to the Crypto Platform Team, driving innovation, excellence, and collaboration within the engineering organization.

Oversee the design, development, and deployment of PayPal's Trading Platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and execute the technical roadmap for BCDC's digital asset and Web3 initiatives.

Lead and mentor a high-performing team of engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, growth, and technical excellence.

 

What do you need to bring

Extensive experience in engineering leadership roles, with a proven track record of delivering complex, high-impact projects.

Strong background in software engineering, architecture, and development, preferably in FinTech, cryptocurrency, or related domains.

Proficiency in leading and managing software engineering teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.

Deep understanding of blockchain technology, cryptocurrencies, and Web3 concepts.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across functions and levels of the organization.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive clarity.
