Putting safety protocols in place

That’s why we’re on the lookout for an effective country EHS manager who will help the account regional EHS director in implementing and managing the Company’s safety management system across the region. 

As the person in charge, you’ll see to it that both national and local safety standards are religiously followed in all of our clients’ multisite portfolios. Aside from these, you’ll be on top of designing and enforcing risk management strategies; as well as providing reports on the adoption of safety protocols.  

You’ll also be the go-to person for all things related to workplace safety. In this role, you’ll provide valuable insights and technical advice on mitigating risks. You’ll also organise and roll out effective communication plans for the region. Performing routine inspections, reviews and audits is part of your mandate, too.

Are you a staunch supporter of collaborative work and team effort? If so, this is the perfect role for you. As the person in charge, you’ll work closely with site teams to ensure that our safety measures and procedures are adhered to. Likewise, you’ll constantly collaborate with our account teams to identify opportunities for improvement, and determine cost-effective ways in implementing our safety standards.

Also part of your scope is to build good working relationship with our clients and contractors. In this role, you’ll work side-by-side with facilities managers in handling key external and internal stakeholders. You’ll also support our procurement team in selecting contractors, and ensuring that these approved experts follow safety standards in place.

The ideal candidate will steer the Company to safety—and see to it that the workplace stays this way. That’s why we’re looking for a certified expert with over three years’ experience in managing EHS systems. We’d also want someone who is well-versed in international safety standards, preferably those who hold Chartered Membership of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH) certification or other national equivalent.

Likewise, the ideal candidate is equipped with good working knowledge of EHS tools and platforms, and the technical skills to overcome issues that may come our way. A relevant experience in handling quality management systems, as well as Lead Auditor Qualifications, are also advantageous.

A total ace in leadership, soft skills

What we’re looking for is a country EHS manager who can effectively take on the pressures of the work, all while providing high-quality deliverables in the process. As the person in charge, you must have superior verbal and written communications skills to cover a wide range to client-engagement tasks such as meetings, presentations and reports. These skills will also prove useful when working with multicultural teams.

Likewise, we want someone who can constantly deliver innovative solutions based on the clients’ business needs. A team player at heart, the ideal candidate must also strike a perfect balance between our clients’ demands and deadlines. What you’ll do Joining the Finance team, will put you amongst some of the most talented finance and operations leaders in the globe.  We are looking for a proven leader to build and lead the fast-growing International Accounting team within our Stripe Delivery Center (SDC). The International Accounting Manager for the Controllership function will supervise and evaluate all Legal entity controllership processes  and have experience implementing new systems and tools. This position will suit a person who is a hands-on manager and excited to assist in managing the monthly close, statistical reporting, compliances, coordinating with board to adopt and approve financial statements, indirect tax filings, cash flow forecasting, intercompany accounting, statutory reporting, consolidation, and audits of all our international subsidiaries and branches. Based in the Bangalore office, you will be on the ground floor of this function with an opportunity to set the pace and direction for the future.   Responsibilities Build, develop and lead a team that drives International Accounting Controllership function based out of SDC.    Perform and drive monthly / quarterly close activities, including manual journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, variance analyses and analytical reviews, producing internal management reporting and external audit support   Identify potential inefficiencies in existing processes and propose improvements   Participate in building scalable accounting processes, establish measures of success, set benchmarks and improve timelines and efficiencies  to support global growth   Partner with Billing, Internal Systems, Treasury, Tax and/or Legal to investigate issues that arise during reporting cycles   Define and execute efficient internal control documentation and sign-off procedures including the country prescribed regulatory frameworks (ICFR, SOX, GFS etc)   Enhance and maintain existing accounting policy and procedural documentation   Drive end to end improvement of input processes to enable scale and productivity    Develop, manage and improve process metrics utilizing automation, lean practices and process optimization to scale   Create global best practice documentation and facilitate sharing across the globe.   Create a culture consistent with Stripe Operating and Leadership principles and an inspiring work environment that brings the best out of people at work.   Provide robust feedback on process health and performance, identifying and remediating errors and delivering scale over time   Partner with global process owners and functional leaders to demonstrate impeccable performance across multiple workflows and set a high bar for consistent improvement over time   Lead cross functional projects and reporting that drive performance improvement, visibility and automation throughout financial services.     We are looking for: Demonstrated knowledge of key business financial metrics, providing metrics inputs to various reporting venues, and communicating key performance indicators to stakeholders in support of business objectives   Advanced finance operations experience of leading large operational processes   Ability to set goals, financial plans and effectively influence leaders across Stripe     Who you are We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. Responsibilities Ensure all EHS related reports are prepared and shared on time. Conduct data analysis and prepare required reports to enable the EHS team to set right priorities including but not limited to injury trends, audit repetitive findings, common system weaknesses, common areas of non-conformities or non-compliance across the different departments, repetitive reported unsafe conditions or unsafe behaviours through near misses or any other means. Own the EHS documents and records keeping and filing, and ensure filing is done in an organized and easily accessible way and is made ready when needed. Follow up in timely and proactive approach on the completion of all EHS related corrective/preventive actions (C/PA). Follow all required reporting and transactions on myEHS including but not limited to incidents reporting and fulfilment of all requirement, metrics reporting, progress and completion of Prepare regular performance reports and presentations. Track all EHS expenses and compare against available funds and advise accordingly. Creating Purchase Orders (PO) and completing Goods Received (GR) creation, follow ups and invoice submission. Scheduling and following up on activities such as (inspections, safety Follow up on EHS contracts and ensure on-time prior-to-expiry renewals. Follow up on plant clinic/first- aid room and ensure proper functionality including but not limited to competent staff, availability and continuous replenishment of medicines, cleanliness. Follow up and ensure timely updates of EHS documents including but not limited to risk registers, aspect/impact register, Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan (EPRP) and related lists, Permit to Follow up on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) availability and timely replenishment. Active participation in the risk assessments, accident investigations, communication, planning, Reward and Recognition (R&R), Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan (EPRP), monitoring, inspections and audits as assigned by the EHS MS or the EHS Manager. Any other actions or responsibilities assigned by the direct manager that is in line and supports the job main purpose Qualifications Strong people management skills. Problem solving and strong analytical thinking (root-cause analysis, setting action plans etc) Self-starter able to work independently with a high degree of business savvy. Excellent Planning & Organizing skills. Excellent communication and presenting skills and the ability to engage with and influence the behaviours of others internally and externally without direct reporting relationship. Recognised EHS qualification; preferably NEBOSH IGC and Environmental Management in addition to Ministry requirements.
