We are looking for a Manager for our Industrial and Logistics Advisory services, which is part of our Strategic Consulting business line.

 

JLL MEA Industrial Advisory Services

The Industrial Advisory Services division of JLL MEA is a specialized practice that provides focused industrial advisory services across Middle East & Africa. We work extensively with industrial infrastructure developers, government agencies and multi-laterals, advising them on formulating implementable development strategies for industrial and logistics clusters, free zones, special economic zones, integrated industrial and economic corridors and port / airport based industrial clusters among others.

 

What this job involves

Your primary role would be to work with the industrial advisory services team and undertake industrial feasibility studies, business plan formulation, formulation of realistic development strategies for large scale industrial parks, free zones, industrial corridors and special economic zones

Understanding of global industrial and logistics supply chains / value chains and undertake demand assessment on the basis of key sector / sub-sector level opportunities

Identification of industrial / warehousing opportunity sectors by utilizing global, national and regional datasets as well as understanding on the on-ground demand dynamics

Perform research based on global / regional industrial datasets for macro and micro-economic analysis, industrial growth forecasting and scenario-based demand assessment, then applying a variety of quantitative and qualitative analytical methods such as econometric forecasting techniques to arrive at realistic demand projections

Undertake detailed industrial and logistics financial assessment to establish project viability - post tax financial modelling including preparation of balance sheets / P&L statements

Undertake interactions / structured interviews with manufacturers / industrial operators / industrial infrastructure developers to gauge industrial market dynamics and utilize the inputs to formulate effective development strategies for the client

Data collation through primary as well as secondary market sources and analyse the same to generate meaningful reports and recommendations for the clients

Undertake on-ground market assessment / market studies

Preparation of business pitches / proposals / tenders for private as well as government clients

Contribute to the successful execution of other business development and marketing initiatives as needed

Produce clear, succinct write-ups to be included within industrial research reports and consulting assignments

Desired experience and technical skills  

Working with team leaders to formulate effective strategies for clients and to ensure successful project delivery

Fast learner, enthusiastic, motivated

Excellent communication and analytical skills, report writing capabilities, sound knowledge of financial modelling, preparation and delivery of presentations

Strong analytical background with attention to detail

Strong organizations skills with the ability to work on multiple tasks and prioritize

Ability to work to meet deadlines, even when timeframes are demanding

Strong relationship building skills – able to collaborate with colleagues and develop strong relationships with clients

Clear communicator with strong presentation skills

High proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel - Good report writing skills in MS Word, ability to prepare succinct PowerPoint presentations and excellent understanding of MS Excel and financial modelling

Familiarity with various statistical & economic models used for forecasting & analysis

Flexibility for travel within Middle East and Africa

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; (and preferably also Arabic)

Willingness to take on new challenges

Be capable of managing stress & accepting constructive feedback

Experience of having worked across industrial advisory studies covering feasibility / development strategy for industrial parks, economic / industrial corridors, Special Economic Zones / Free Zones, Airport / Port led industrial zones, High-tech industrial / innovation & R&D clusters, etc.

Previous technical background in market research / financial analysis etc.

4 – 5 years’ professional experience preferred

Relevant Master’s degree in real estate / finance / economics / business preferred

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Technology would be an added advantage.

Responsibilities Ensure all EHS related reports are prepared and shared on time. Conduct data analysis and prepare required reports to enable the EHS team to set right priorities including but not limited to injury trends, audit repetitive findings, common system weaknesses, common areas of non-conformities or non-compliance across the different departments, repetitive reported unsafe conditions or unsafe behaviours through near misses or any other means. Own the EHS documents and records keeping and filing, and ensure filing is done in an organized and easily accessible way and is made ready when needed. Follow up in timely and proactive approach on the completion of all EHS related corrective/preventive actions (C/PA). Follow all required reporting and transactions on myEHS including but not limited to incidents reporting and fulfilment of all requirement, metrics reporting, progress and completion of Prepare regular performance reports and presentations. Track all EHS expenses and compare against available funds and advise accordingly. Creating Purchase Orders (PO) and completing Goods Received (GR) creation, follow ups and invoice submission. Scheduling and following up on activities such as (inspections, safety Follow up on EHS contracts and ensure on-time prior-to-expiry renewals. Follow up on plant clinic/first- aid room and ensure proper functionality including but not limited to competent staff, availability and continuous replenishment of medicines, cleanliness. Follow up and ensure timely updates of EHS documents including but not limited to risk registers, aspect/impact register, Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan (EPRP) and related lists, Permit to Follow up on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) availability and timely replenishment. Active participation in the risk assessments, accident investigations, communication, planning, Reward and Recognition (R&R), Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan (EPRP), monitoring, inspections and audits as assigned by the EHS MS or the EHS Manager. Any other actions or responsibilities assigned by the direct manager that is in line and supports the job main purpose Qualifications Strong people management skills.
