JOB DESCRIPTION

Meta is seeking Research Scientists to join its Fundamental AI Research (FAIR) organization, focused on making significant advances in Responsible AI. We publish groundbreaking papers and release frameworks/libraries that are widely used in the open-source community. Recent examples include the LLaMa family of Large Language Models (LLMs) and tool-augmented language models. We also collaborate with the Meta Generative AI and other organisations to bring the latest research findings to production. We seek experts in responsible AI to join our research team to foster cutting-edge research in social implications of AI.

AI Research Scientist - Responsible AI Responsibilities

  • Publishing state-of-the-art research papers in responsible AI with particular focus on social impact of AI technologies.
  • Conducting independent research that investigates how sociotechnical systems impact various social groups in different ways.
  • Open sourcing high quality code and reproducible results for the community.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a PhD in mathematics, statistics, physics, computer science. Candidates with strong backgrounds in statistics and machine learning who are otherwise coming from another discipline are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Deep interest in cross-disciplinary communication towards conducting research in socio-technical systems and responsible AI.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by grants, or fellowships, as well as publications in FAccT, AIES, *ACL.
  • Contributions to affinity workshops at machine learning conferences (e.g. NeurIPS, ICML) welcome.

What You'll Do: Most of all, we are creators. The Product Engineering team builds the products that make Criteo tick: from developing industry leading machine learning techniques, to building high scale/low latency real-time applications (over 5M QPS, handling over 300 Bn HTTP requests daily), to delivering first class client interfaces, both API and UI, with forward-thinking UX at their core, all using state of the art technology. During your apprenticeship (1-3 years) and according to your choice, skills and interest, you can tackle one of the following subjects: Backend: contribute to the introduction of a performance-oriented design in our core web applications. Full stack: build an analytics application from the data pipeline to the front-end Frontend: Design and implement a component in a web application that will be used to manipulate big JSON markup easily. The goal is to provide a tool to create or change layout banners in a simple and efficient way. Quality improvement of our most valuable datasets, including fraud and low-relevance data detection.
