Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise warehouse operators, forklift operators, and material-handling personnel.
- Oversee receiving, inspection, storage, picking, kitting, and dispatch activities.
- Ensure inventory accuracy and proper material identification.
- Collaborate with Production, Procurement, Quality, Logistics, and Planning teams.
- Monitor warehouse capacity and optimize storage locations.
- Ensure compliance with FIFO, FEFO, and batch/lot traceability.
- Maintain inventory integrity through cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and control of hazardous materials.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
- Monitor material-handling equipment condition and usage.
- Prepare and maintain warehouse performance reports and KPIs.
- Drive continuous improvements in productivity, inventory accuracy, and cost efficiency.
- Train, coach, and develop warehouse personnel.
- Support external audits and facility-wide safety initiatives.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Warehouse Management, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-7 years of experience in warehouse operations and material handling within a precision engineering manufacturing environment (Defence, Chemical, or Heavy Industry sectors preferred).
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management principles, inventory control, and material flow processes.
- Good understanding of IFS and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Experience with inventory management, stock control, and inventory accuracy processes.
- Knowledge of FIFO, FEFO, and batch/lot traceability requirements.
- Familiarity with 5S methodology, continuous improvement practices, and warehouse housekeeping standards.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety regulations, material-handling procedures, and risk management principles.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to lead, motivate, and develop warehouse teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong planning, organizational, and coordination abilities.
- Analytical mindset with effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
- Must pass a security vetting.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in an international or European manufacturing environment is considered an advantage.
- Experience working with, monitoring, and driving performance improvements in key warehouse KPIs such as inventory accuracy, on-time material availability, order fulfilment, picking accuracy, space utilization, reduction of material damage, equipment uptime, slow-moving inventory, safety compliance, manpower utilization, and KPI reporting.
