ANSYS, Inc. is seeking a UX Designer II in Canonsburg, PA to create easy and delightful user experiences for their products. This intermediate role involves designing interfaces, creating wireframes, conducting usability studies, and collaborating with product managers and development teams.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, and evaluates cutting-edge user interfaces with increased independence.
  • Reviews UX artifacts created by other UX team members.
  • Utilizes prototyping tools and UX toolkits.
  • May create, review, and manage submissions to development code streams with high quality.
  • Creates and delivers usability studies.
  • Communicates design rationale across product creation disciplines and personnel.
  • Records usability/UX problems with clear explanations and recommendations for improvement.
  • Works closely with product managers, development teams, and other designers.

Requirements

  • Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Human-Computer Interaction, Design Engineering, or Industrial Design, or a related field of study.
  • Alternate: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Human-Computer Interaction, Design Engineering, or Industrial Design, or a related field of study, and two (2) years of experience in a related position.
  • Work experience or academic coursework must have included experience with CAD/CAE sketching, modeling and simulation applications including SpaceClaim, Creo, Solidworks, Fusion360 / Inventor, or Rhino.
  • Experience with tools and technologies for UI implementation, including Visual Studio/VS code, WPF, HTML, CSS, or JavaScript.
  • Experience with UX design and collaboration tools including Figma, Sketch, Adobe Suite, 3DS Max, InVision, or Zeplin.
  • Experience with user research in a complex domain such as medical environment.
  • Experience creating intuitive interfaces for managing tasks, resources, and data within engineering or enterprise environments.
  • Experience designing workflow-driven or enterprise web applications for platforms that manage complex, multi-step processes and user workflows.

Desired Qualifications

  • A passion for visual design and familiarity with UI trends and technologies are essential.
  • This is an intermediate role, heavily focused on content production and communication.
  • Intended to expose the UX professional to the nuts-and-bolts aspects of their UX career; while building on presentation, communication, and usability aspects of the design role.
