The Utility Attendant assists branch departments with facility upkeep and maintenance, including general repairs, landscaping, and special projects. This role emphasizes safety, customer focus, and continuous improvement, requiring the ability to work with various tools and equipment in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform building maintenance, miscellaneous repairs, landscaping, and special projects.
  • Follow daily/weekly checklists for branch maintenance items.
  • Demonstrate safe and proper application of all tools and equipment.
  • Work on and around heavy construction equipment, requiring climbing and accessing hard-to-reach areas.
  • Demonstrate proper application and use of all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Provide a high level of customer service and satisfaction.
  • Assist service technicians as needed.
  • Service equipment systems including hydraulic, air, electrical, and lubrication.
  • Safely operate different industrial tools, including a forklift.
  • Perform tasks as directed by the department supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as directed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Prior experience in the construction industry strongly preferred.
  • Possess a valid California Driver’s License and a good driving record.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow instructions.
  • Ability to work on and around heavy construction equipment.
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and steps.
  • Ability to work in noisy, dusty areas with outdoor elements.
  • Ability to lift, pull, or push objects/materials up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to have a flexible schedule for overtime, as needed.
