ASSA ABLOY is seeking a Trade Compliance Analyst in New Haven, Connecticut. Responsibilities

  • Act as a primary day-to-day contact for 18+ factories, carriers, government agencies, customs brokers, and affiliates regarding trade compliance.
  • Support relationships with customs brokers, conduct audits, and track Post Summary Corrections.
  • Respond to requests from customers, suppliers, brokers, and customs authorities.
  • Assist factories with trade compliance issues that may delay shipments.
  • Review and update harmonized tariff (HTS) codes for all products.
  • Ensure annual collection of Country-of-Origin information and certificates of origin from suppliers.
  • Support the tracking and declaration of Assists or Value Reconciliation to customs authorities.
  • Apply knowledge of Customs regulations and government agency requirements across Mexico, Canada, and the U.S.
  • Maintain a robust record retention program for import records.
  • Support the Duty Drawback program.
  • Understand and track changes to China Section 301 tariffs and other duty programs.
  • Assist in rolling out cloud-based trade compliance software.
  • Create and conduct training on trade compliance topics.
  • Support the development of localized Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.
  • Handle projects for master data cleanup and data governance.

Requirements

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree or higher in international trade, logistics, supply chain, or another related field.
  • Minimum 2+ years Trade Compliance experience.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% to visit sister-company sites mostly in the Americas.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience at a U.S. import brokerage is a plus.
  • Mandarin or Spanish language skills are a plus.
