Nordea is seeking an expert Team Lead, NBA Data Scientist in Helsinki to lead data science initiatives for personalized customer actions. You will be responsible for shaping modeling strategies, building and optimizing predictive models, and driving experimentation to enhance customer engagement and business outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Shape and evolve the NBA modelling strategy using Pega CDH, custom ML models, and external analytical signals.
  • Build, deploy, and optimize predictive models for customer engagement, conversion, retention, value, and recommendations.
  • Translate business objectives into decision strategies by combining predictive models, business rules, and customer context.
  • Lead experimentation and measurement through A/B testing, champion/challenger approaches, control groups, and uplift analysis.
  • Drive the use of customer, behavioral, transactional, and digital data for predictive modeling, ensuring data quality and responsible AI.
  • Monitor and improve model performance for continuous optimization.
  • Collaborate across teams to operationalize models using modern development practices and AI-assisted tooling.
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and quality.

  • Advanced programming skills and experience building custom ML models in Python
  • Experience with recommendation engines, personalization platforms, or customer decisioning platforms
  • Experience combining multiple models, signals, and rules to support customer-level decisions
  • Experience with Customer Lifetime Value (CLV), churn prediction, retention optimization, or product adoption modeling
  • Experience with Pega Customer Decision Hub (CDH), adaptive decisioning, or similar enterprise decisioning technologies
  • Understanding of real-time and batch decisioning concepts, including latency, data availability, and performance trade-offs
  • Knowledge of model governance, explainability, monitoring, and responsible AI practices
  • Familiarity with Agile ways of working and modern development practices (version control, testing, reproducibility, experimentation tracking)
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude)

Desired Qualifications

  • A relevant academic background in a quantitative field such as data analytics, business analytics, economics, finance, engineering, or computer science.
