Saab is seeking a Support Manager for its Training and Simulation department in Paderborn, Germany. This permanent, full-time role involves leading a team of four, managing DFWES equipment, and ensuring operational support for military exercises, with responsibilities for site operations and HSSE matters.

Responsibilities

  • Report directly to the Capability Manager in the UK.
  • Provide leadership and management to a team supporting DFWES equipment and operations.
  • Ensure contractual and operational support for military exercises.
  • Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot DFWES systems.
  • Prepare and follow up on equipment for military exercises.
  • Provide on-site support during exercises and occasional business trips.
  • Collaborate closely with military and civilian contacts.
  • Manage financial, technical, and HSSE-related matters at the site.
  • Ensure smooth day-to-day operations of the site.

Requirements

  • Technical understanding and ideally technical training or a technical background.
  • Knowledge of and understanding of site management and site operations.
  • Experience in a military environment or with military exercises.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and ability to work well in a team.
  • Essential English language skills.
  • Valid Class B driver’s license.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for work, both domestically and abroad.

Desired Qualifications

  • German language skills are desirable.
