Support Engineer - (Fixed Term Contract), AMPS

AWS Financial Technology Team is looking for a results-oriented, customer obsessed support engineer, who can help us creating a positive experience for our customers across Amazon. Our ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, relishes working with highly scalable micro services architecture, and enjoys troubleshooting and problem solving within highly complex business contexts that are typically being defined in real-time.

You will learn all about how to design, implement, test and support highly scalable solutions using the AWS cloud platform and its many products, working with best in class professionals.

Key job responsibilities
· Provide support of incoming tickets, including extensive troubleshooting tasks, with responsibilities covering multiple products, features and services
· Work on operations and maintenance driven coding projects, primarily Java/React
· Software deployment support in staging and production environments
· Develop tools to aid operations and maintenance
· System and Support status reporting
· Collaborate with Ops/Tech teams for issue resolution

Basic Qualifications

- 2+ years of software development, or 2+ years of technical support experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent
- Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems
- Experience scripting in modern program languages
- Experience in Unix
- 1+ year experience running and maintaining a 24x7 production environment
- Experience in Java/React/shell scripts
- Knowledge of Java based technologies
- Ability to write intermediate level database queries. SQL skills.
- Understanding of micro services, workflow modeling, web application development, and industry-standard workforce systems
- Excellent documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with AWS, networks and operating systems
- Ability to solve complex problems independently
- Strong understanding of support processes – SLA, handling tickets, monitoring, processes and metrics.
- Proven ability to write scripts and automation using Java
- Understanding of the complete deployment life cycle from design, build, test, deploy
- Knowledge on application maintainence hosted on AWS would be an added advantage
