Responsibilities

  • Analyze cost drivers across materials and services categories to identify optimization opportunities.
  • Identify, evaluate, and develop strategic supplier relationships while fostering healthy supplier competition.
  • Assess and implement make-versus-buy decisions based on business needs and cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align suppliers with category strategies and ensure readiness for product launches.
  • Support front-end teams during quotation phases by engaging suppliers, negotiating pricing, and confirming capacity and compliance.
  • Lead supplier negotiations throughout project execution to ensure favorable outcomes.
  • Partner with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to secure supplier approvals and maintain strong collaboration.
  • Conduct supplier performance reviews and manage ongoing supplier relationships.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives using strategic sourcing, value analysis/value engineering (VAVE), and negotiation tactics.
  • Lead sourcing projects, including RFQ/RFP preparation, total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Utilize e-sourcing tools to drive cost competitiveness and support decision-making.
  • Implement dual or multi-sourcing strategies to mitigate risk and meet demand requirements.
  • Maintain accurate supplier pricing data in ERP systems to support product costing and financial transparency.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in supply chain, engineering, business administration, or a related field.
  • Strong negotiation, influencing, and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of end-to-end supply chain processes and global sourcing practices.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured approach.
  • Experience using enterprise systems (such as ERP platforms like SAP or Oracle) and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Ability to collaborate across functions and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to work in a dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.
  • Exposure to best-cost country sourcing strategies and global supply networks.
  • Demonstrated success in cost optimization and supplier relationship management.
  • Familiarity with e-sourcing tools and advanced data analysis for procurement decision-making.
  • Experience supporting new product development (NPD) initiatives in a manufacturing environment.
