The SU3 Assembler II, 1st shift is responsible for assembling gasket plate heat exchangers using hand and power tools, following blueprints and standard operating procedures. This role involves quality checks, data recording, and active participation in continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Assemble components to build finished products, requiring manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Follow blueprints and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for daily work assignments.
- Report deviations in safety, quality, parts, or equipment immediately.
- Participate in daily status board meetings, explain deviations, and propose solutions.
- Review and suggest improvements for SOPs.
- Identify and drive waste elimination opportunities and KAIZEN improvements.
- Engage in daily and weekly 5S routines.
- Seek cross-training opportunities and learn new processes efficiently.
- Accurately record data on quality documentation, components, and products.
- Participate in continuous improvement and development aligned with the Alfa Laval Production System (ALPS).
- Cross-train to support department or factory demands as required.
- Be trained and pass Industrial Vehicle Tests (Crane, Forklift, Joey).
- Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items manually or using lifts.
- Consistently use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.

- Accurate and consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in assembly or manufacturing is beneficial.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles like 5S, Kaizen, PRP, and TPM is a plus.
- Willingness to be trained and pass Industrial Vehicle Tests (Crane, Forklift, Joey).
