We are seeking a Steam Turbine Engineer in Noida, India. This hybrid, full-time role involves designing, implementing, and testing control systems for steam turbines and power plants. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's or Master's degree and at least 4 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implementation of controls from SAMA/Functional diagrams/narratives/third party DCS/PLC systems to Ovation.
  • Preparation of I/O list from P&ID.
  • Implementation of graphics from sketches/snapshots/P&IDs.
  • Implementation of Simulation logics for First-Pass Test, process tie-back simulation.
  • Logics related to DEH, protection and auxiliaries.
  • Configuration of turbine special I/O modules like Speed, RVP, RSR and associated interface logics.
  • Preparation of control documents like control description document, ATS document, SOE list, FAT & SAT procedures etc.
  • Creation/modification of Ovation Internal Point Database and virtual controller setup for testing.
  • Testing of implemented controls and graphics & troubleshooting.
  • Follow Department Quality processes and procedures.
  • Scaling of Open loops & closed loops as per the ranges in the HW database.
  • Use of various Productivity tools such as DBID tool, Audit Tool, Database Productivity Tool, Device builder etc.
  • Third Party Communication and support for Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) activities.
  • In-house Ovation Server / Workstation loading and upgrade versions of ovation systems.
  • Formation of Ovation structure at site.
  • Ovation system loading and re-loading at site and network troubleshooting.
  • Locate, differentiate, and analyze problems in logic design / field/ hardware errors and DCS.
  • Maintain protocols for IO loop check, device check and panel charging.
  • Perform Loop check, device test and necessary modifications in the logics, graphics and database.
  • DCS erection supervision and commissioning at site.
  • Carry out steam turbine/ HPLP bypass valve calibration, overspeed test.
  • Perform third party communication (e.g., ELC, SLC, SCADA & OPC).
  • Work closely with GEC and global Emerson support team for troubleshooting.
  • Support Site Acceptance Test (SAT) activities.
  • Regular site updates to customer, front office & GEC.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Electronics/Electrical/Instrumentation/Power Engineering.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in the processing industry, preferably in power plants.
  • Knowledge of Distributed Control Systems and Steam Turbine / Power Plant process.
  • Good communication, interpersonal skills and drive for results.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Able to work in a team.
  • Willing to travel India and abroad.
  • Should be able to resolve basic technical matters.
  • Self-motivation and ability to accept challenging assignments.

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Steam Turbine Controls.
  • Knowledge of Power Plant Process.
  • Understanding of SAMA/Functional diagrams.
  • Knowledge of MS-Access & MS-Excel.
  • Knowledge of Third Party DCS/PLC logic, graphics, Communication Protocols.
  • Knowledge of DCS/PLC HW structure.
  • Tie-Back Simulation, Testing & Troubleshooting.

  • DCS/PLC Commissioning & Troubleshooting.
