Responsibilities

  • Responsible for high-level definition, planning, execution, and timely delivery of competitive new and derivative products.
  • Ensure products meet specifications, on time, on budget, to cost and quality targets, and comply with standards.
  • Manage operational, service, and support requirements, and align with global/local product development procedures and roadmaps.
  • Drive product topics in monthly PCM (Product Creation Management).
  • Perform engineering and technical ownership tasks including design, prototype building, validation, production/service setting, ERP/documentation readiness, and launch activities.
  • Define and implement technical validation and verification, guide testing, resolve problems, and provide test data and reports.
  • Ensure efficient support for engineering-related topics in the supply chain, manufacturing, and aftermarket.
  • Develop innovative ideas and solutions to improve practices and procedures.
  • Provide technical guidance/supervision to less experienced staff.
  • Ensure product portfolio continuously meets legislative, industrial, and corporate standards through design, safety review, and certification processes.
  • Act as a key initiator of key technical documentation.
  • Develop positive relationships to promote collaboration among multifunctional teams for viable product development.
  • Support and guide other departments in their technical needs.
  • Ensure safe and effective operations in controlled areas, complying with Health and Safety policy and regional laws.
  • Promote Atlas Copco’s talent framework behaviors, open communication, fairness, non-discrimination, and respect.
  • Maximize transparency in all activities and safeguard the business code of practice.
  • Drive and support dedicated project tasks carried out by multiple PCs within Atlas Copco Group.

Requirements

  • Degree in a Mechanical Engineering or Science discipline.
  • Experience in new product development and technical support.
  • Experience in oil injected technology (vacuum pump or compressor).
  • Experience in heat transfer and thermodynamics, rotating element bearings, lubrication systems, electric motors, gearboxes, small clearance mechanisms, vacuum technology.
  • Excellent level of project management competence.
  • Competence in collaboration among multifunctional team members.
  • Knowledge on basic electrical design, manufacturing processes, and supply chains.
  • Competence on definition and implementation of product validation/verification via experimental techniques, risk assessments, mathematical modelling analysis and CAE simulations.
  • Fluency in reading/written English, competence of communication with international English speakers.

  • Sufficient business/commercial awareness to make appropriate proposals to balance potentially conflicting commercial and technical drivers.
  • Influencing, communication, presentation, and negotiating skills, both internally and externally.
  • Be able to achieve credibility and respect.
